Big Bang Boating Day
How can your guests come to Central London, return home on their usual transportation and in between, see the Thames, have a sail, shoot some clay pigeons and party? Where else but a shooting day on the Lady Daphne! Perhaps the highest-impact event (sic) you can have out of Central London is to take your guests for a clay pigeon shoot, with full training and coaching. For experienced shots it may not be their most challenging venue (we have to shoot away from the boat, naturally), but it has its compensations – seeing the shot on the water and the use of classic pieces such as flintlocks, 8 gauges or blunderbusses. With two traps, twenty-five guests get about fifteen shots apiece, sometimes much more if time permits. The suggested programme is: 10:00 – 10:30 Meet at City Pier 10:30 - 12:30 Sailing to the Shoot 12:30 – 15:00 Anchored for Shooting 15:00 - 17:30 Return to London
The number of guests who seem to need to make an urgent mobile telephone call with the guns going off demonstrates the impact ("yes, I am out sailing – we just happen to be shooting clay pigeons here on the Thames"). Make a bang with your guests. |
